Together, we are changing lives

South Saskatchewan Community Foundation

In 1969, the South Saskatchewan Community Foundation Inc. (SSCF) was established in Regina, the first of its kind in Saskatchewan. In 2007, the SSCF’s assets have grown to over $13,400,000. Initially, it was incorporated with a gift of $60,000 from the early
Community Chest that became the United Appeal of Regina – your current United Way of Regina.

Today, SSCF manages United Way’s Tomorrow Fund endowments. Not only do these endowments allow for annual support, but they provide long term sustainability. Together, we are effectively promoting our shared vision of helping donors make their community a better place to live for everyone.

The earnings from these endowments go back into our community each year in support of various initiatives focused on:

  • Early Life– ensuring all children are ready to learn when they enter school and grow into thriving, resilient youth who become contributing citizens.

  • Education – ensuring all children are engaged and supported in positive learning environments, and supporting all students to finish high school.

  • Income – supporting all community members to work towards financial stability and independence.

  • Social Inclusion – ensuring basic needs are met so that all citizens can become engaged and connected with their community.

Our partnership with the SSCF allows us to effectively address these current and future challenges facing our community. We value our partnership with SSCF and are proud of the fact that it spans close to 40 years.

We wish to thank our generous supporters who believe in United Way of Regina’s mission of improving lives and building community –
not only for today but for generations to come.

By working together, we really can make a difference.
