United Way announces $3.75 million

Larry  Deters, Campaign Chair for the United Way of Regina’s 2008 Circle of Care Campaign, announced the financial goal for this year’s Circle of Care Campaign in front of an audience of over 450 people. “This year our aim is toreach a total campaign goal of $3.75 million for United Way of Regina,” said Deters.

Mr. Deters announced the goal at the United Way of Regina’s Kick-off Luncheon at the Queensbury Downs – IPSCO Place.

“The 2008 campaign goal is about much more than the money raised – it’s about giving people across our city the opportunity to connect to their community and be part of building a better common future for Regina. People support United Way because they know their donation stays right here changing lives and building our community for everyone.”

“The Circle of Care Campaign makes it possible for United Way of Regina to support our network of community partners who deliver an array of essential human services from programs that enable vulnerable families to be successful, help high school students stay in school, and empower the residents of our inner city neighbourhoods to take back their communities block by block,” Deters said.

“This year’s campaign theme is Live United and living united is about recognizing that when you reach out a hand to one, you touch all by making our city a better place to live for everyone,” Deters said.
