Organizational Development Learning and development programs lead to stronger, more effective, and more dynamic organizations. Some areas that we focus on include outcome evaluation, senior staff support and board and volunteer development. We provide this support through a variety of ways including workshops, individualized training, facilitation of peer support and organizational assessments. Outcome Evaluation Being able to demonstrate that an organization’s efforts are making a difference for people can help in a variety of ways.
Senior Support Program Professional and personal development for senior staff and volunteers responsible for the management and leadership of community based organizations is critical to both the capacity and sustainability of these organizations. During 2004, United Way of Regina commissioned a study of the professional development needs of Executive Directors and senior staff. One of the recommendations included the concept of peer learning, with the option of learning through short courses. Currently, the United Way of Regina offers peer learning circles to its funded partners and has recently been expanded to include board learning circles as well. Topics are chosen by the participants and have included areas such as human resource management, funding and the image of community based organizations.
