Day of Caring

13th Annual Day of Caring® Week
June 7 - 11, 2010

Day of Caring® Week is one of Regina’s largest annual volunteer events. First launched in 1995, its success and popularity has turned the once day long event into a week long affair that attracts hundreds of volunteers every year.

United Way of Regina is committed to Day of Caring® Week not just because of the incredible impact it has in terms of projects completed and the volunteer opportunities created. For us Day of Caring® Week is part of our integrated approach to building relationships that create real and positive change in our community.

Individual volunteers have the opportunity to learn about the important work of community-based organizations, the value of their work and why it makes such a significant difference in our community. In turn, volunteers have the chance to make their own contribution to that work, and many have sought out roles with the host organization long after the week has come and gone.

Employers who encourage their employees to participate discover that supporting their employees who take on a leadership role in their community increases the visibility of the business, strengthens employee morale and increases the pride all employees have in the company they work for.

Because of all of this and more, Day of Caring® Week is about more than just hammers, nails and paint brushes: it’s about building relationships and building our community — something that benefits all of us.
