On behalf of the entire GenNext Committee and fellow GenNexters, thanks again to Devin Harris and Investors Group for extending this act of kindness and providing the opportunity to connect people with an inspiring example of the impact youth, and indeed all of us, can have in our community. Craig Kielburger now age 25, has received many awards for his work, including the Order of Canada, the Nelson Mandela Human Rights Award, the World Economic Forum GLT Award, the Roosevelt Freedom Medal, the Governor General’s Medal of Meritorious Service, the Human Rights Award from the World Association of Non-Governmental Organizations and the World’s Children’s Prize for the Rights of the Child, also known as the Children’s Nobel Prize. He is the youngest person ever to be selected as one of Canada’s Top 40 Under 40, an award that recognizes leadership, community involvement and contribution. United Way of Regina GenNext volunteers participated in the 11th Annual Day of Caring® Week. Day of Caring® Week is one of Regina’s largest annual volunteer events. Individual volunteers have the opportunity to learn about the important work of community-based organizations, the value of their work and why it makes such a significant difference in our community. In turn, volunteers have the chance to make their own contribution to that work. Our GenNext team worked together to paint a few rooms at the Arthritis Society – allowing the staff to focus on improving the lives of those with Arthritis. The Arthritis Society is a national organization that has been helping people with arthritis for almost 60 years. The Society is Canada's only non-profit organization devoted solely to funding and promoting arthritis research patient care and public education.
